Troutman Sanders Guides Agco In $940M GSI Buy

Law360, New York (October 3, 2011, 2:00 PM EDT) -- Agco Corp. said Monday it would buy grain storage and protein production company GSI Holdings Corp. from affiliates of private investment firm Centerbridge Partners LP for $940 million in order to move deeper into high-growth sectors and enhance cash flow.

The deal should allow Agco to capitalize on the increasing need for agricultural products both in North America and overseas — particularly in Asia, Russia and Brazil — that is expected to come with growing populations, according to the company.
