No Difference Between 'Law,' 'Laws': 7th Circ.

Law360, New York (October 03, 2011, 7:51 PM ET) -- The Seventh Circuit ruled Monday that courts should make no distinction between the word "law" and "laws" in a published decision remanding a Bank of America Corp. customer's suit claiming the bank falsified her credit report.

Though it did not take issue with the lower court's judgment in favor of the bank, the Seventh Circuit's three-judge panel found that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana erred when it dismissed Kristine Purcell's claims without prejudice based on its reading of the word "laws"...
