'Girls Gone Wild' Boss Can't Force Arbitration In Pay Row

Law360, Los Angeles (October 3, 2011, 9:24 PM EDT) -- A California judge on Monday refused to grant "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis' request to have an arbitrator decide a proposed class action that accuses him of withholding pay from film editors who worked on the video franchise.

Judge Debre K. Weintraub's decision is a blow to the polarizing entrepreneur who, along with his two production companies Manta Films Inc. and GGW Direct LLC, is accused of misclassifying his employees as independent contractors and denying them overtime pay and state-mandated meal and rest periods....
