Law360, Los Angeles (October 04, 2011, 1:57 PM ET) -- A Massachusetts federal judge on Monday handed Genzyme Corp. a temporary restraining order in its patent infringement action against Seikagaku Corp. on Monday, temporarily barring sales of the Japanese pharmaceutical maker’s Gel-One osteoarthritis knee pain treatment.
“The court finds that in the absence of a temporary restraining order that immediate irreparable harm will likely result in Genzyme before Genzyme’s motion for preliminary injunction can be properly addressed on the merits,” U.S. District Judge Douglas P. Woodlock held Monday, granting Genzyme’s sealed temporary restraining order.
