China Slams US Over Currency Manipulation Bill

Law360, New York (October 4, 2011, 2:33 PM EDT) -- After the U.S. Senate voted to open debate on a bill aimed at China's alleged manipulation of the value of its currency, Chinese officials said Tuesday that the country was strongly opposed to the measure, and warned lawmakers to "stop pressuring China through domestic lawmaking."

Also Tuesday, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, called the legislation "dangerous" at a press conference, indicating that the bill might not be taken up by the House should it pass the Senate.
