9th Circ. Won't Rehear Dry Cleaning Waste Disposal Case

Law360, New York (October 05, 2011, 9:25 PM ET) -- The Ninth Circuit on Tuesday rejected separate requests for rehearing from a property owner and a dry cleaning business that unsuccessfully sought to hold dry cleaning equipment manufacturers accountable for the disposal of hazardous chemicals at two California strip malls.

The petitions for rehearing were filed by Hinds Investments LP — which owns the strip malls that had once housed dry cleaning businesses — and Team Enterprises LLC, which operated a dry cleaning business on Hinds' property.
