Qualcomm's Options Dwindle As ITC Refuses Stay

Law360, New York (June 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Friday denied Qualcomm Inc.'s request for a stay of its ban on the import of phones containing Qualcomm chips found to be infringing patents held by Broadcom Corp.

The blow leaves the company with limited options in its quest to evade the order: seek an emergency stay from an appeals court while waiting for word of a presidential veto of the ban, or—if the president upholds the June 7 ban—appeal the ITC's ban order.
