Krill Oil Extractor Neptune Sues Rivals Over New Patent

Law360, New York (October 6, 2011, 3:32 PM EDT) -- Neptune Technologies & Bioressources Inc., a company that extracts health supplement oils from Antarctic krill, sued multiple rivals on Tuesday in Delaware, alleging they infringed a newly issued patent for the makeup of its product.

On the heels of receiving approval for the patent Tuesday, Neptune filed two separate lawsuits against Enzymotec Ltd., Aker BioMarine ASA and other defendants, accusing them of selling products that infringe its patent for the so-called phospholipids extracted from the shrimp-like crustaceans.
