Italian Tobacco Cartel Can’t Snuff Bulk Of €20M Fines

Law360, New York (October 6, 2011, 2:21 PM EDT) -- A European Union court trimmed an antitrust fine against bankrupt Italian tobacco processor Romana Tabacchi SRL to €1 million ($1.3 million) on Wednesday, but refused to toss nearly €18 million in penalties against two former units of tobacco giant Alliance One International Inc.
