Goldman Unit Sued For Nixing $385M Lehman Property Deal

Law360, New York (October 06, 2011, 10:15 PM ET) -- Bankrupt Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. on Thursday hit a Goldman Sachs & Co.-run real estate private equity fund with a $100 million suit for wrongfully scuttling its $385 million purchase of a stake in a $1.25 billion commercial real estate portfolio.

Lehman's suit, filed in New York bankruptcy court on the day the sale was to be completed, claims that Goldman breached the purchase contract when its fund unilaterally terminated the $385 million deal on Tuesday and demanded the refund of its $100 million deposit....
