Simpson, Kirkland Aid Investors In $1.6B KCI Notes Deal

Law360, New York (October 7, 2011, 6:56 PM EDT) -- Kinetic Concepts Inc. and an investment group led by private equity firm Apax Partners on Friday announced a $1.6 billion notes offering in connection with the funds’ $6.3 billion buyout of the San Antonio-based medical device company.

Apax is teaming up with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board to take KCI private, and the $1.6 billion raised in the offering will go towards financing the $68.50 per-share deal and addressing outstanding debt, according to a press release.
