Purdue Sues Ranbaxy Again Over Generic OxyContin

Law360, New York (October 11, 2011, 10:15 PM ET) -- Purdue Pharma LP accused Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc. of infringing three of its patents for OxyContin in a lawsuit made public Tuesday, marking Purdue's latest challenge to the generics maker's attempt to market its own version of the popular painkiller.

In the suit, filed Friday in New York federal court, Purdue claims that an abbreviated new drug application Ranbaxy filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to make generic OxyContin in 10-, 15- and 20-milligram tablets infringes the patents.
