Walgreen, W.W. Grainger Exit Software Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 11, 2011, 10:20 PM EDT) -- Walgreen Co. and W.W. Grainger Inc. on Tuesday settled with patent holder Select Retrieval LLC in a lawsuit in Illinois federal court alleging they violated two of Select Retrieval's patents covering database software. 

In two orders based on separate settlement agreements, U.S. District Judge Charles Kocoras dismissed with prejudice Select Retrieval’s claims against Walgreen and W.W. Grainger. Terms of the settlements were not disclosed.

Hewitt, Texas-based Select Retrieval filed a lawsuit in June alleging the companies had violated two of its patents pertaining to database software....
