Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 1:17 PM ET) -- Private equity firm Candescent Partners LLC has added to its portfolio of software companies with the acquisition of SoftBase Systems, a provider of application testing and computer system diagnostics, the companies announced Wednesday.

Candescent acquired SoftBase alongside co-investors Harbert Mezzanine Capital, Bush O’Donnell Capital Partners LLC and Brooke Private Equity Associates and now sets its sights on growing the company and its services for customers using IBM’s DB2 database management system. The terms of the deal remain confidential.
