Hitachi Sues Chinese Rival Over Storage Patents

Law360, New York (January 2, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A joint venture between IBM and Japan’s Hitachi has sued a Chinese rival in federal district court in California over patents for storage technology.

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies sued GS Magicstor Inc. of China, its Chinese parent company, GS Magic, Inc. and Riospring, Inc. of Milpitas, CA., Magicstor's research affiliate, for infringement of multiple Hitachi GST's patents relating to hard disk drives, the company said.
