Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 4:54 PM ET) -- The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation refused Wednesday to consolidate two wage-and-hour class actions accusing UBS AG of misclassifying workers to dodge overtime pay responsibilities, despite factual similarities in the suits' claims.
Cooperation between parties in the two cases, filed in New York and California federal court, can minimize any crossed wires, like duplicated discovery or inconsistent pretrial motions, the panel said.
