Visa, MasterCard Fixed Prices On Fees, ATM Owners Say

Law360, New York (October 12, 2011, 5:51 PM EDT) -- A group of ATM operators hit Visa Inc. and MasterCard Worldwide with a class action Wednesday, accusing the credit card titans of antitrust violations over restrictions placed on ATM access fees.

The National ATM Council Inc. and several independent ATM operators allege that Visa's and MasterCard’s rules bar ATM operators from offering lower-than-standard prices for transactions that don’t involve Visa or MasterCard, according to the complaint.
