Microsoft Accused Of Infringing Data Processing IP

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 6:28 PM EDT) -- An Australian patent-holding company sued Microsoft Corp. and one of its distributors on Thursday in Illinois federal court, alleging the technology giant infringed two data processing patents.

Financial Systems Technology (Intellectual Property) Pty. Ltd. and a subsidiary are seeking a judgment that servers produced by Microsoft and sold by technology retailer CDW Corp. infringe its patents.

“Microsoft’s acts of infringement have injured plaintiffs and plaintiffs are entitled to recover damages adequate to compensate them for such infringement, but in no event less than a reasonable royalty,”...
