Smithsonian Sued For $15M Over History Museum Rebuild

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 7:08 PM EDT) -- Turner Construction Company Inc. launched a $14.5 million suit in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on Thursday, claiming the Smithsonian Institution breached its contract with Turner to design and rebuild the central core of the National Museum of American History.

Turner said it filed the suit because the Smithsonian had rebuffed its request for additional mediation in the dispute, which centers around payment for Turner's design and construction of a large portion of the museum's Kenneth E. Behring Center.
