Verizon Judgment Upped $24M In ActiveVideo IP Suit

Law360, New York (October 14, 2011, 9:13 PM ET) -- ActiveVideo Networks Inc. may receive up to $140 million after a Virginia federal judge on Friday ordered Verizon Communications Inc. to pay supplemental damages as well as pre- and post-judgment interests exceeding $24 million in an infringement suit over patents covering on-demand video.

The $24 million is in addition to the $115 million that a jury in August said Verizon should pay for allegedly violating four of ActiveVideo’s patents. The verdict was the largest of its kind in the Eastern District of Virginia.
