$94M Wellogix Award Slashed In Accenture Contract Row

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 5:12 PM ET) -- A Texas federal judge on Monday agreed to slice $50 million off a $94.4 million jury verdict awarded to software company Wellogix Inc., which accused Accenture LLP of reneging on a joint marketing deal in a contract and trade secrets suit.

While U.S. District Judge Keith P. Ellison denied Accenture's petition to overturn the verdict, the judge did agree that the $68.2 million punitive damages award — $50 million more than Wellogix's attorneys requested — was excessive. He capped the punitive damages award at $18.2 million...
