Indictment Reinstated For NM Judge Accused Of Bribery

Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 10:44 PM EDT) -- A New Mexico state judge on Monday reinstated the indictment of a former judge accused of paying a colleague for a tie-breaking vote in a judicial election.

Judge Leslie C. Smith granted the prosecution's motion to reconsider his dismissal last month of the indictment against ex-judge Michael Murphy, saying he had made the ruling on exculpatory evidence based on incomplete information.
