Kayne Anderson Raises $575M For Student Housing

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 2:25 PM EDT) -- Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors announced Tuesday that it had raised $575 million for a private equity fund dedicated to the student housing market, closing well over its target of $350 million.

The fund, called Kayne Anderson Real Estate Partners II and launched by the real estate arm of asset management firm Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP, is the firm's second student housing private equity fund, according to the company.  Of the money raised, $130 million have already been invested in properties near Michigan State University,...
