Dow Scientist Admits Stealing $300M In Trade Secrets

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 2:02 PM ET) -- A Dow AgroSciences LLC researcher accused of economic espionage pled guilty Tuesday to stealing $300 million worth of trade secrets and sending them to China and Germany.

Kexue Huang, a Chinese national who worked at Dow's Indianapolis research facility, helped develop unique strains of organic insecticides, which he illegally shared with scientists in China and Germany, according to the plea agreement. He faces up to 15 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
