Verbatim Exits ITC Probe Into USB Drive Imports

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 5:04 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Monday it will drop its investigation into allegations that Verbatim Corp. Inc. infringed patents owned by Trek 2000 International Ltd. with its imports of USB thumb drives, after the companies reached a settlement.

The companies signed an agreement that will allow Verbatim to make, use, import and sell USB technologies covered by four Trek 2000 patents, according to the commission’s response to a joint motion to terminate the probe. Additional details of the settlement were not released.
