Google, Others Targeted Over Hyperlink Patent

Law360, Los Angeles (October 18, 2011, 2:39 PM ET) -- Walker Digital LLC hit Google Inc., Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc., Yahoo Inc. and Vibrant Media Inc. with nearly identical lawsuits Tuesday, alleging that each company’s targeted ad service infringes a newly issued Walker Digital patent for providing customized electronic hyperlinks.

Tuesday’s burst of complaints is just the latest round of patent infringement lawsuits by Walker Digital, which has moved aggressively this year to enforce its broad patent portfolio.
