In-House Attys Show Bigger Appetite For Arbitration

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 7:48 PM EDT) -- Companies in the U.S. and the U.K. are increasingly interested in heading to arbitration to resolve their disputes, preferring to forgo litigation in favor of arbitration's speed and lower profile, a Fulbright & Jaworski LLP report released Tuesday said.

Corporations expressing a preference for arbitration over litigation increased in the U.S. to 40 percent, up from 34 percent last year, the survey said. In the U.K., 37 percent of companies expressed a preference for arbitration, up from 28 percent the year before, it said.
