Apple's Antitrust Claims Struck From Samsung IP Fight

Law360, New York (October 18, 2011, 11:29 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday dismissed Apple Inc.’s counterclaims alleging anti-competitive behavior by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. in a suit alleging Samsung’s smartphones and tablet computers infringe Apple’s iPhone and iPad patents.

U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh granted Samsung’s request to toss Apple’s allegations that Samsung had violated the Sherman Act and the California Unfair Competition Law by failing to disclose its intellectual property rights to a wireless industry standards-setting organization and by making misleading statements about its intent to license the patents declared...
