Novogen Settles Patent Spat Over Menopause Patents

Law360, New York (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Australian biotechnology company Novogen Ltd. has notched another settlement with a health supplement maker in its enforcement of patents for plant-derived compounds used to treat menopause.

Novogen announced Tuesday that it had settled a lawsuit filed against Tennessee-based health products maker Chattem Inc. for allegedly violating two patents for supplements containing isoflavones, which have been found to reduce such menopause symptoms as hot flashes. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
