Permira To Pick Up Alcatel-Lucent Unit For $1.5B

Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 7:14 PM EDT) -- Telecommunications firm Alcatel-Lucent has a binding offer to sell its call center software business Genesys to private equity firm Permira for $1.5 billion after evaluating its options with the unit, the company announced Wednesday.

The telecommunications firm decided to shed Genesys, which had annual revenue of $500 million in 2010, while keeping its larger business communications unit Enterprise, Alcatel-Lucent said in a statement.
