Law360, New York (October 19, 2011, 10:04 PM ET) -- Squirrel Brand LP, a family-owned nut company, revived an intellectual property battle Wednesday against Kraft Foods Global Inc., accusing the food giant of engaging in unfair competition by selling flavored almonds that use the same name as Squirrel Brand's trademarked nuts.
The nut producer first sued Kraft and its subsidiary Kraft Foods Inc. in December over their use of the name “Creme Brulee Almonds,” the same allegedly infringing title targeted in the current suit, filed in Texas federal court.
