Cisco Boosts VSP Offerings With $99M BNI Video Buy

Law360, New York (October 20, 2011, 1:24 PM ET) -- Cisco Systems Inc. will augment its offerings to video services providers by paying $99 million for software company BNI Video, the company said Thursday.

The purchase price is a combination of cash and retention-based incentives in exchange for all of BNI Video's shares. Boxborough, Mass.-based BNI Video's employees will be folded into Cisco's service provider video technology group, according to Cisco.

The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of Cisco's 2012 fiscal year.
