Pfizer Unit Off The Hook In Prempro Breast Cancer Case

Law360, New York (October 20, 2011, 9:27 PM ET) -- An Arkansas federal jury on Thursday cleared Pfizer Inc. subsidiary Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc. of wrongdoing in a case brought by a woman who claims the company's hormone treatment Prempro gave her breast cancer.

The jury found that plaintiff Gloria Curtis had not proven Wyeth had failed to warn her about known risks associated with Prempro, which is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat osteoporosis and symptoms of menopause.
