Judge Blesses End Of Blockbuster-Netflix Patent Feud

Law360, New York (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A protracted legal battle between Blockbuster Inc. and Netflix Inc. over patents covering Netflix's popular “wish list” and “no late fees” features has slowed to a halt, with the judge dismissing the action with prejudice at the behest of the rival movie rental companies.

U.S. District Judge William Alsup on Tuesday signed a modified stipulation of dismissal with prejudice, but said he would “not acquiesce in the proviso that the court should retain jurisdiction” because Blockbuster and Netflix did not supply a copy of the settlement...
