Purchasers Seek Class Status In Ditropan Case

Law360, New York (June 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Indirect purchasers of Ditropan XL are seeking class status in their antitrust action against Alza Corp. for allegedly blocking generic copycats of the bladder treatment from entering the U.S. market, less than a week after Alza urged the court to dismiss the case.

The proposed class would include unions and health plans in the U.S. that paid for Ditropan between January 2005 to the present, according to the indirect purchasers’ motion Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
