Farmers Entreats High Court To Nix $9M Fraud Verdict

Law360, Washington (October 21, 2011, 4:17 PM EDT) -- Farmers Insurance Co. of Oregon asked the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this month to overturn a nearly $9 million judgment against it in a class action alleging fraud over its handling of auto insurance medical benefits.

Mark Strawn sued Farmers in 2009, contending that its handling process for personal injury protection benefits breached contractual obligations with insureds under its automobile policies and amounted to fraud.
