United, Pilots Settle ERISA Suit Over Pension Plan Cuts

Law360, New York (October 21, 2011, 6:21 PM ET) -- United Airlines Inc. on Friday settled a case in Washington with hundreds of former pilots and pilots' widows who claimed the airline improperly ended a retirement pension plan.

U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg signed an order dismissing the case, which also stipulated that United Airlines will withdraw a motion for contempt filed in Illinois bankruptcy court against the plaintiffs, who are led by advocacy group United Pilots for Justice.
