Plaintiffs Can't Depose Bondi's Witnesses: Judge

Law360, New York (June 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The plaintiffs in a securities class action against Parmalat SpA will not be able to depose the Italian diary company's expert witnesses past deadline, the federal court judge in the case has said, putting an end to the protracted battle over witness depositions.

Judge Lewis Kaplan of the U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday denied Parmalat Chief Executive Enrico Bondi's motion for a protective order shielding his witnesses, ruling that the plaintiffs' bid to depose them was “unpersuasive.”
