DirecTV Operators Infringed Satellite Patents: Suit

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 4:58 PM EDT) -- Satellite technology company Global Communications on Friday accused a group of DirecTV master system operators in Florida of illegally infringing patented technologies that permit multiple viewers to watch satellite broadcasting through a single antenna.

Florida-based Global Com accused PDI Communications Inc., North American Cable Equipment Inc., Perfectvision Manufacturing Inc. and DSI Systems Inc. of continuing to provide equipment to DirecTV subscribers containing technologies covered by eight separate patents despite the expiration of a licensing agreement between Global Com and DirecTV in 2007.
