Oracle Pays $1.5B For Cloud-Based Customer Service Co.

Law360, New York (October 24, 2011, 4:40 PM EDT) -- Oracle Corp. will acquire software provider RightNow Technologies Inc. for $1.5 billion, giving it access to RightNow’s cloud-based customer service software, the technology giant announced Monday.

Oracle agreed to pay $43 per share for RightNow, which provides the cloud-based software to companies looking to integrate their customer service operations across call centers, the web and social networks.
