Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 2:31 PM ET) -- A former Champion Laboratories Inc. employee who blew the whistle on the company and other auto filter manufacturers for alleged price-fixing, helping spawn multidistrict litigation targeting the industry, was sentenced in Pennsylvania on Wednesday to two years in prison for making false statements.
The sentencing followed William G. Burch's June 29 guilty plea to one count of making false statements to the government in connection with a doomed U.S. Department of Justice price-fixing case against a number of manufacturers of aftermarket auto filters. The government alleged...
