Feds OK BP's 1st Post-Deepwater Gulf Drilling Permit

Law360, New York (October 26, 2011, 8:14 PM EDT) -- U.S. regulators signed off on a drilling permit for BP PLC for a new exploratory well in the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, the first such permit approved for the company since the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in April 2010.

Michael R. Bromwich, director of the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said in a statement Wednesday that BP had met all the safety requirements implemented, and has adhered to additional voluntary standards as well.
