8 Calif. Property Investors Admit To Bid-Rigging Scheme

Law360, New York (October 28, 2011, 2:18 PM EDT) -- Eight investors in Northern California on Thursday copped to charges that they violated the Sherman Act by conspiring to rig bids at public real estate auctions, the U.S. Department of Justice said.

The investors engaged in anti-competitive behavior by agreeing to refrain from bidding against each other at public foreclosure auctions in San Francisco County and San Mateo County, the DOJ says.
