Bimbo Bakeries Settles Calif. Action Over Rest Breaks

Law360, Los Angeles (October 31, 2011, 3:17 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Monday approved a settlement between Bimbo Bakeries USA Inc. and a class of its nonexempt hourly employees who claimed the bread maker, which is facing several wage-and-hour actions, violated the state's meal and rest break laws.

U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt approved the $250,000 settlement, which will compensate approximately 280 Bimbo workers who allegedly worked shifts without mandated break periods.
