Ohio Drops Organic Dairy Product Labeling Rule

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 7:59 PM EDT) -- An organic industry group said Monday that the state of Ohio will no longer pursue regulations limiting statements on organic dairy product labels indicating the items are produced without antibiotics, pesticides or synthetic hormones, claims the state had previously called misleading.

"This is significant for all of us who support what the organic foods are about and for consumers who carefully read food labels to find out what's in their food and how it's produced," said Organic Trade Association CEO Christine Bushway.
