Contractor Can't Revive $23M Award In Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (October 31, 2011, 7:17 PM ET) -- An Ohio appeals court on Friday upheld a lower court’s decision to reduce a $22.7 million damages award for Innovative Technologies Corp. in a trade secrets suit alleging Advanced Management Technology Inc. poached employees and proprietary information to win a government contract.

The appeals court unanimously affirmed a lower court’s decision to reduce a jury’s compensatory damages award in favor of Innovative Technologies from $5.7 million to $1.9 million and a punitive damages award from $17 million to $5.8 million.
