Amex Blasts Source Over Customer Service Patents

Law360, New York (June 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Calling Source Inc.'s arguments full of “much bluster but little law,” American Express Co. on Thursday defended its inequitable conduct counterclaim against the California company, which it says failed to inform the U.S. patent office of changes it had made to its credit card customer rewards patents.

The battle between the two started in August 2005 after Source alleged that the credit card giant was infringing on four of its patents by promoting a customer rewards credit card called the “True Earnings Card.”
