Colgate Recalls Mouthwash Over Infection Fears

Law360, New York (November 02, 2011, 5:08 PM ET) -- Colgate-Palmolive (UK) Ltd. is recalling over-the-counter mouthwash in 11 countries in Europe, Asia and the Pacific over concerns the product could lead to bacterial infections in people with weak immune systems or chronic lung conditions, a British regulator said Wednesday.

The recall includes 14 batches — all U.K. stock — of Colgate Periogard chlorhexidine mouthwash distributed between August 2009 and October, according to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
