ITC Takes Up Westinghouse Solar Panel IP Suit

Law360, New York (November 2, 2011, 5:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission will open an investigation into allegations that two solar power system makers imported solar power equipment that infringes a pair of patents belonging to Westinghouse Solar Inc., it said Wednesday.

The investigation stems from a complaint filed Oct. 3 by Westinghouse and company subsidiary Andalay Solar Inc. that accuses Zep Solar Inc. and Canadian Solar Inc. of importing into the U.S. solar panels and related parts that infringe Westinghouse's patents.
