Visa, Google, Others Push US On Digital Trade Rules

Law360, New York (November 3, 2011, 6:43 PM EDT) -- Several companies including Google Inc. and Visa Inc. urged the U.S. to fight digital protectionism and pursue updated international trade rules reflecting the growing importance of information technology, according to a report issued Thursday by the National Foreign Trade Council.

The report emphasizes the need for a more consistent and transparent set of rules to govern cross-border exchanges of data and information services.
